Plastic is made to last forever but mostly is used only once. According to the government body 'Sustainability Victoria' Australians buy almost 15 billion plastic bottles every year and many of these end up in landfill or in our waterways. Across the world 14 billion pounds of plastic are dumped into the ocean every year which is breaking down into small particles called microplastics. These particles are increasingly showing up in our food and water supply. According to studies 90% of the water we drink and 31% of the fish we eat contains microplastics which is causing health issues.
